VAUCONCOURT-NERVEZAIN – for Even Better Quality Water
The municipality opened the doors of its new filtration unit, located at the Nervezain drinking water plant. This was an opportunity to provide some educational insights.
The visit was very informative.
To mark the operational launch of a new filtration unit at the Nervezain drinking water plant, the municipality organized an open house for the general public. The stated objective? “So they know what they are drinking!” summarized the mayor. Visitors were able to discover the different phases of drinking water production and the role of this new installation.
The system, installed before the lockdown under the direction of Christian Beaufait, Jean-Alain Dutrillaux, and the company Ceaupe, filters water using ultrafine membranes to further improve distribution quality. The operation cost €220,000, subsidized up to 50% by the DETR and the Departmental Council.
The municipality of Quatre-Rivières, which includes Vauvoncourt, Nervezain, La Roche-Morey, and Charmes-Saint-Valbert, produces its own drinking water and remains autonomous from the community of municipalities of Southern Haute-Saône. “This is a real asset for the municipality,” emphasized Christian Beaufait, Deputy Mayor.
The needs of La Roche-Morey, during periods of drought, are thus met thanks to this autonomous network. Production remains entirely dependent on local resources, but the quality meets expectations: “We are fortunate to have excellent quality water, low in lime, and this new unit further improves it,” the mayor stated with satisfaction.
The company Ceaupe, specializing in drinking water treatment, is located in Nancy. It currently employs about twenty people. Christian Beaufait concluded: “This membrane system is a real guarantee, especially in a context of climate change where resources are fragile.”
The water thus treated is then controlled by the Regional Health Agency, less chlorinated, and above all much purer. This development delights residents, many of whom came to discover the installation.
